Who can send a Ghostr message?
Only an account holder with a completed profile, verified phone number, and active GHOSTED opt-in. Text GHOSTED to (470) 824-5317 to opt in.
Who can receive one?
Anyone whose phone number has opted in by texting GHOSTED to (470) 824-5317. Recipients do not need to create an account.
Why does the recipient have to opt in too?
It’s the unfortunate reality of U.S. A2P messaging rules and carrier consent requirements. Ghostr messages are sent by an application, so carriers require recipients to agree before we can text them—even when another person writes and pays for the message.
Will they know it was me?
No. The recipient sees Ghostr and the moderated message, not your name or phone number. Ghostr retains your verified identity for abuse prevention and lawful requests.
What does STOP do?
Texting STOP to (470) 824-5317 disables receiving and sending for that phone number until its owner explicitly opts in again.
